Joe came highly recommended from a co-worker and turned out to be even more amazing than expected! He trained my dog Tootsie several years ago and has boarded her on and off since then. Tootsie is now very well behaved, walks easily on her leash and follows commands. I'm fairly certain she loves it when I go out of town because she gets to hang out with Joe and his crew. I can't say enough wonderful things about Joe and how wonderful he has been. Joe Simmons has a sixth sense when it comes to communicating with dogs and we trust him with all our training needs. We highly recommend Joe to all our friends and family due to the positive experience that we have had working with him.
We adopted a male cinnamon Chow Chow puppy that was born blind in one eye and limited vision in his other eye. Ben was a sweet, tender hearted boy but he was timid. We enlisted Joe to train Ben to help build his confidence. Joe spent a few weeks with Ben, and the progress was amazing. Ben was patiently waiting at the other end of the leash for his next command and we were convinced that Joe was a miracle worker.
We later decided to get a black, smooth coat Chow Chow puppy, a female named Abby, to be Ben’s “seeing eye dog.” Abby was a curious, sassy little girl that thought going to see Joe for training was a big adventure. Joe worked his magic with Abby and we now have two fabulous, well-mannered dogs. Joe is the best!

Our dogs are part of our family, our first loves. But dogs, especially big dogs, come with responsibility and training. We first found Billie Jean (55lbs American Staffordshire Terrier/Lab mix), and then two years later we adopted Bowie (80lbs full bred American Staffordshire terrier). We knew we needed a true professional to introduce Bowie to Billie together and for us to have control of the strength and muscle on both of these dogs. That’s when we reached out to Joe, and he was a godsend. He took one dog at a time to his property, teaching/training them one-on-one to ensure they truly understood and followed the training.
When both dogs were trained, he came over numerous of times to teach us how to follow and understand the training. The truth in the training lies with the owners. Joe went through step-by-step what was taught and practiced with us until we felt comfortable. He is so incredibly good at what he does, not just with the dogs, but with the education of why he does what he does. He made us feel comfortable that we could always have control of our dogs that are now well behaved. I highly recommend Joe, and could not have done this without him!

Joe has been keeping my dog, Brewer for years. Brewer loves Joe and going out to the country. I live in a neighborhood, and Brewer is completely fascinated by the different wildlife like ducks at Joe's. I can always count on Joe to take great care of Brewer. 10 years ago we brought home our new Golden doodle puppy Brian. After he chewed up our carpet, furniture and window molding, our neighbor referred us to Joe. Joe not only trained Brian, but taught our whole family how to keep up the training. Brian could sit, stay and lay down on command, was behaved on leash, and was house broken. Joe also “boundary trained” him for the areas in our home so we did not have to put up gates. Our dog is such a big part of our family and I know we enjoy him much more because of everything he learned from Joe.
Joe also keeps Brian when we are away. The moment Brian sees Joe, he starts barking and crying out of excitement. A few years ago we were scheduled to go on a ski trip but Brian got really sick the day before …his intestines were twisted and he had to have emergency surgery with only a 20% chance to live. I considered canceling our trip, but Joe was happy to go pick him up from the vet…he fed Brian chicken broth with a turkey baster and got him back to health. He sent me updates everyday and let me know he was getting better. I am so thankful for that and for how much he loves the animals he works with.

My co-worker shared a picture of a 6-week-old puppy who had been dropped off at the vet to be put down because she was blind and the breeders could not make money. Without hesitation I claimed her… but I didn’t know what to do!
Joe trained me before he trained her. Re-read that. He trained me not to coddle her, how to give a firm voice but loving hands (since she’s only touch). With him showing me consistency she now can FETCH, walk WITHOUT a leash, and is 7 months old! She loves every person that interacts with her, Xena is definitely living an amazing life.

Joe has trained three of our dogs over the years. From our mixed breed rescue to our French and English bulldogs, he has been a firm but loving presence in their life. Joe does a fantastic job taking care of our dog Flash! He always makes sure our dog is healthy and does administer medicine if needed. He is also able to groom Flash when we ask, which is also so convenient. He is able to pick up our dog as well as bring him home. We highly recommend Joe to everyone!!
